Never heard of a novo penta speedo?? Maybe you need to provide a part number.

Are you saying that the pitot tube speedo cable wrapped around the propeller?

If it happened when trailering, maybe you need to raise the outdrive and put it in reverse so the prop doesn't spin.

Translation;
My speedo broke. Could it be air forced up the pickup in the V-P leading edge of the Lower unit?

Maybe, but it's a first hearing something like that.

volvo stupid spell check,the speedo needle wrapped all the way around and stuck to bottom side of peg.thought maybe air pressure from trailering boat down highway,never had happen with any other boats I've had

Probably there is water in the bourdon tube inside the gauge, the water must have froze and expanded the bourdon tube and cause the gauge to wrap around.

no way enough air coming in the pitot tube would spin the speedo around. because of the density difference of air and water, you would have had to be towing about 230mph in air to read about 50mph on the speedo.

most likely the bordon tube in the speedo simply broke or the spring came un-done....it happens
