There are a few cracks, gouges and spots where gelcoat has flaked off in my 1968 Boston Whaler Nauset. I am thinking of using Spectrum Gelcoat. Is this a good product. Does anyone have expeirence with it? Also, if it doesnt quite match where can I get some blue and white color agents to adjust the color a little? Thanks!

Re: Spectrum Gelcoat

we use spectrum quite often, probably have 15 to 20 different qrts at work.. if i recall correctly, it is Sea Rays gel..

for the majority of our gel, etc we use MiniCraft out of Fla. http://www.minicraft.com/ we keep their full spectrum of colors in stock to work off of.

but the Spectrum is just as good i would say, quality wise. i just use minicraft because they also sell gun equipment, etc..

tints are available from most marine supply places. i suggest pouring off a small seperate batch of the gel, add a little tint, then use that to change the original batch. the tint is highly potent.
