I have a 1985 Johnson 150 hp VRO outboard. I just bought the boat/motor so I went to do a compression test before completely finalizing the sale, and I noticed that the plugs don't have the normal side or center electrodes like I'm used to seeing on car/mortorcycle, and previous boat spark plugs. Is this correct, or is there a big problem here? I'll have pictures up tonight if I need to so you can see what I'm talking about. If this is normal, how do these plugs work as there doesn't appear to be a gap for the spark to travel along?
