spark plug wires

hello every one
could some one please tell me on my 1973 mercury 50HP 500 model 7007692 do the sparkplug wires un-screw from the distributer cap or pull out? would like to change them boots are all cracked.

Paul, I would expect the plug wires to unscrew from the distributor cap. That is how they worked on my '73 Merc 850. You will need to source new ones. I would try the vintagemercs or oldmercs websites. Boots and spring connectors are sold separately.
