spark plug question

Having trouble getting my old merc started just wondering if maybe have wrong type of plug in her its a 1979 mercury inline 6 115 hp (no distributor) anyone tell me where i can find specs on champion and or ngk plugs thanks for taking the time to read this and help me out if ya could

There are a lot of inline 115 with ADI ign. (6 coils) running with L76V plugs in them, the book calls for L78V a heat range hotter, guess it's up to you which you run, colder should damage the engine.

colder can damage the engine only if you use it at maximum for long time... wormer can start easier
