Ok I just bought brand new spark plugs that the motor calls for and I bought a spark plug gap gauge from autozone and I checked gap and its reading right at 0.037 , 0.038 should I squeeze gap in r leave it like that? O and by the way motor ran with it gapped that much

Yes it will run like that. Standard gap for most engines was 0.040" at one time but the recommended gap for just about all was reduced to 0.030" some time ago. I forget the reason for the change.

The plugs will last longer and it's not so hard on the ignition system.
