SOUP-UP a Mercury 7 1/2 hp motor

Hello.. I have a mercury 7 1/2 motor that seems to be running so so, but I know it can run faster. Is there anyway to soup it up? I was told to put a 9.8 prop on it, but is there anything else I can do, like working on the jets or reed valves? Thanks for stopping by. ***** Bless You... Daniel Brothers dbrot7@cs.com

Yes, you could put a larger jet in the carb,and buy a set of Boyessen Reeds in it (if they make them for your motor).

The jets would be,but you might have to buy the whole carb kit that it is in to get it.<br />The reeds are available right here,from a link from iboats.<br /> http://www.outboardparts.com/mercury/mercury/mercurystartingpage.htm
