some newbie questions

ok the motor is a aq125b how do i tell if it has been winterized?
after that how do I unwinterize it?
the big red box on the front of the motor (heat exchanger I think) whats it for? and should it have antifreeze in it (looks like antifreeze in it to me)

Go to the link below and type in your AQ125B in the engine type box, and download the owners manual for your engine. I think you will find a lot of usable information in that manual.

one more question.. would a bad seal on the water pipes cause the motor not to pump water? the impeller is fine.

If it's on the intake side of the pump it sure will.

its on the pipe on the top (intake side) of the heat exchanger

Nope, that's on the output side of the pump. The most you would get would be a water leak.

well.. any other reason it would not be pumping water? impeller fingers going the wrong way?
