Re: Soakn Yur Lure

i see a bunch of people saying to use an oil based scent and im pretty against that since oil will wash off instanly when it hits the water. anything oil based does not last. try a paste form like carolina lunker sauce, that stuff lasts about 20-30 mins on any lure.

i will put a small amount of lunker sauce shad or craw in zip lock plastic bags and put a few lures or plastics in after fishing them or changing lures. seems to work well for me. after a day or weekend of fishing you also have an idea of what lures and what colors worked or did'nt work.

go fish

Never thought of using plastics zip locks..Makes sense. What about the hooks kipper..As sharp as the barbs are i would think that the hook and the plastic would not have a good relationship together.

Bassers tend to use smaller lures and I could see how that might work..Some of my musky lures can be from 10" to 15" ..Although i could use a 30 Gallon Trash bag to soakm in.. :D

Need to figure out a way to work with your suggestion..Until then I will just put the juice to them.

I do remember many years gone by that I had to use a bag on on a different type of fin :eek: but since is a g rated thread I won't go there :D :D

Re: Soakn Yur Lure

I just noticed this post pretty interesting, I have used attractents while fishing but never thought about soaking the lures{good idea}.

Bearcamp;

The prep H does work I have used it before and it did make a difference. The reason it works is because the stuff is made with shark oil. I use the cheap stuff from k-mart or walmart, Just read the label and make sure it is made with the fish oil.

I use this stuff for soft plastics:

got a nasty garlic smell, but I use it because I just have to buy just solid colors then re-color the tails on the water. Works great. Really penetrates the plastic and changes the color, not just paint on another layer.

Most times I go fishing... that's all I usually do is "soak lures" and drown worms and minnows. :eek:
