Re: So you're out on the water and it hits you

The small lake we frequent used to have porta dumps so it was easy to get back to shore and go back to your boating....but some a-holes kept turning them over:mad:....so the DNR removed them. I see people tie off and run into the woods. We keep a coffee can and plan to buy a porta potty this winter to be better prepared. We always stop before we get to the lake, but your body sometimes will surprise you....or the Tudors biscuit you had that morning...:p

It's getting cooler out and the REALLY REALLY REALLY big cup of coffee I have on the way to the lake can make for some interesting sightings while wearing several layers of clothing. The cold weather has never stopped us from hitting the lake. I really need to get some goggles though because my eyeballs like to freeze up making them useless.

It's usually our grandson that comes up with the "I got to go" just as we start catching fish. I always keep a plastic coffee can in storage. Take out a couple of tackle boxes from one storage and he has a nearly private little bathroom with the lid up. Just don't ever forget to remove from boat, flush and completely rinse. Not a pretty sight when you do remember why the can doesn't feel empty. lol

Hell, that's nothing...used to be a pretty much weekly chore for me when I managed a boat rental place. We had several boats with heads and one of the houseboats had TWO. I was forever cleaning those stupid things.

A friend of mine that used to work there with me was tasked with finding out what the issue was on a Catalina 27 head. Well, I'm still not sure exactly what he did, but he managed to pressurize the waste storage tank (unbeknownst to him) and he went up to the bow and opened the cleanout port. Well, he commenced to dancing quite a jig up there for a few seconds and then promptly dove into the water. There was crap everywhere...took days to find and clean it all...in August...IN TEXAS mind you.

Hope she got a big tip.

I have a collapsible trash can and plenty of bags. If one of the ladies need to they use it. I pee in the water whatever it is from the boat or in the water itself. I do not and will not allow anyone to go #2 in the water. That is disgusting...

One of the lakes I fish regularly has floating restrooms spaced out on the lake.

I would have trashed the boat instead. Ever get used to the smell?

Anyway at Lake Ouachita here in Arkansas they have a translucent tank on the boat that pumps out all the waste storage tanks on the house boats. Not a pleasant sight.

I've gotta say guys, this is one of the funniest threads I've read in awhile. The first thing you learn on a construction site as previously alluded to...NEVER open an empty drywall bucket...especially if it sloshes.

Re: So you're out on the water and it hits you

I worked for a few years for the Forest service in the Sawtooth National Recreation area in Idaho. There was one fellow who was a real obnoxious bossy sort, his step dad was one of the higher up rangers and I suppose he thought that gave him status as well.
Any way this guy was part of the crew tasked with cleaning the campgrounds, including the vault toilets. There was one toilet in particular only accessable by boat so the crew would raft a pump and barrels over to it to empty it. Being the end of season the coworkers of this guy were pretty well sick of him so they made him in charge of the discharge end of the hose, some how the "hose became clogged" and this guy was instructed to clear it, they waited until the guy was literally looking down the pipe before allowing the obstruction to suddenly clear up.:D
He was fired for jumping in the lake to wash the poo off, they all managed to get away with it even though there was zero doubt they had done it on purpose. Guess his stepdad was even tired of him.

Cow or horse manure smells way better than our waste IMO

That's because cows and horses don't eat Big Macs, pot pies, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, or gummi bears!

Re: So you're out on the water and it hits you

Last year we were docked on one of the beautiful 1000 Islands and docked across from us was a 25' Sea Ray with a small family of four, with one being a girl about 18 months.

We were sitting having a couple of wobbly pops and the mother decides it's time to change the baby. Oh yea, they had told my wife how they care about the environment and won't use disposable diapers, they just fill up waste disposal sites.

Then she takes the cloth diaper off the baby and sets it on the dock and puts on a clean one.....then!!!!OMG!!!! She goes to the end of the dock and proceeds to rinse the diaper in the water, I thought my wife was going to have a sh1t fit. This woman had no idea what she was doing to the water. My wife asked if she knew where pollution comes from, her answer "factories". Then my wife asked her if she regularly sh1t in the water......it got interesting. My wife decided to enlighten the both of them.

After a few quiet moments, my wife apologized for loosing it, but she told them she had to say what she said, or they'd never know how wrong that was.
Then they decided they should try to find space on another island because this one gets kind of rough in the morning because of the passing boat traffic. HAHAHA....It's in a cove and very protected.
We've bumped into them since and although not warm, we do exchange greetings.
