Re: So I talked to Admin 5 . . .
Very well said as I have come to expect from you: Pointer. Are you a "minder reader"? No need to waste bandwidth to debate any of yer finer points either. Withdrawal from an addiction may take a little time but: there is an upside; ya may have more time ta play!!! BTW: I know I'm very unlikely to go look fer another fix elsewhere. JR
I personally don't understand the big deal.... This is a business. They provide this site as a vehicle to promote their business. They can set forth any rule they want. This is not a democracy. More like a benevolent dictatorship. I found those posts proclaiming some kind of freedom of speech right, allowing them to say whatever entered their mind on someone else's web site without the filter of common sense, comical.
And I would say that it was probably around 25 of us that were engaged in a daily debate about things almost never having to do with the core business, but created all the mess. That said, I can't say I am thrilled about the changes, but I would bet a weeks pay that not one of the mod's give a rats a** about my opinion. Nor should they. And for gods sake these mods do this for free. The cheap shots levied at them were not only rude but unacceptable. Shame on those who felt the need to behave in such a childish manner.
I personally never participated in the HOTD. Thought is ran across the grain for the site's intent or at least crosscurrent to my reasons for coming here. But hey, its not my site, if they want it, they can have it. I (almost) never looked at the posts but I sure never complained. To each his own.
I will not walk away with some cheap parting shot and my finger in the air. I will hopefully be as stimulated intellectually by the new format as I was by the old. And I congradulate the mods on their restraint and professionalism.
