Charging with 15.5 volts is a little high ...to reach 100% "state of charge", one must limit the current. (1% of CCA or less, is a safe bet) The voltage at this rate will depend on the batteries condition.<br /><br />>As you say, acid should never be added to a battery. In the case of spillage, only electrolyte should be added. (thats a whole other story...)
