I have owned a snowblower since the 1978 blizzard...never have I had a clog that would not unclog itself by just backing up. Yes I do spray everything with some slickery stuff......NEVER have I even thought about sticking my hand in there ! Just shows " you can't fix stupid"....

Speaking of snow, I was wondering....can the weight of a LOT of snow on my boat, that is sitting on a roller trailer punch the rollers thru the hull? Its a fiberglass 20ft boat with a 90hp on it as well. Its that white lump next to my garage!

Mine has been on a roller 40 years... no issues yet. It's seen worse. Of course I may have spoke too soon. :ROFLMAO:

I was looking for an excuse not to have to go up to my waist and try to shovel it off, and you just provided it, thanks!

That is the sort of snow we get every winter living in the snow belt of Lake Ontario. As long as you keep your roof from collapsing you guys should be alright

nah, the snow load is equal to you and two buddies standing in the boat on the trailer drinking beer.

I think what happens is that the auger has tension against it when it's jammed by a piece of ice, then if the ice is dislodged, the auger moves and can trap fingers.
This is why I like single stage machines, they never clog due to the auger moving at high speed.
My next one will be an 8 HP Toro to supplement my old 5 HP Toro.

All the modern era snowblowers come with a plastic rod mounted to the chute, no need to reach in there, that being said I am 59 and have never had a snowblower bind up while operating the machine.

It's the wet slush in the puddle at the curb cut every time. Had it happen 5 times yesterday. Couple taps with a dowel usually gets it.

Guy at my old work place stuck his hand in a running blower shoot. Lost two fingers. Had to shelve the blower till some litigation happened. He ended up getting a dismemberment settlement from workers comp.

We were supposed to get 5-10 inches ... we got 0" on the ground. It melted as it came down or just turned to rain. What a disappointing "storm." Glad I did 0 prep for it ... should have stayed in Boston another week to enjoy the snow! LOL!
