Watch it QC, those in Texas made fun of our northern weather and look what they got! :p :D

I've been ready since turkey day. Since that snow, its been on the ground since. It thawed out for a few hours and was gone only to be replaced by new snow. Now I guess we are surpose to get 3 to 5. Bummer is that I got to get up early at 3 to go repair a fryer. Think they will have the roads clear? I seriously doubt it.

What's the big deal about 3-5" of snow? The news makes it seem like we will need snow shoes.

Throw it in 4wheel and get to work!

You forgot the wildfires that cause the mudslides when (if) we get the rain if the earthquakes don't cause the slide first . .

BTW, I love the snow. We pay $ to go play in it

QC, I spent about 4 years living between Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, and Big Bear. Great place to play in the snow!

New England Snow Checklist:

1. Go to mobbed market, push down old ladies to get 200 gallons of milk but no batteries.

2. Forget to confirm plow contractor has you on this years list. Wait until following morning and call him screaming about "I have to go to work!"

3. Make sure the 2wd car is last into the driveway to effectivly block your 4wd SUV from getting out.

4. Call everyone you know and spread rumors that you heard a forcast of at least twice what it really is.

The only bad part of New England winters are the New Englanders.

Lived in Sacramento when we got a hard freeze; what a mess, they run water pipes in the overhead crawl space. Ceilings leaking everywhere, if not in the house, in the garage. Also, was in PHX when it snowed on Christmas day. Weather is weather -- how profound is that!

Jim, according to the radar its snowing here, but nothing falling out of the sky. Has been a few flurries though. Its a little after six. I think the news is hyping it again. Hopefully it will only be a couple.

LMAO @ Alden

RF,

Wow, now there you go again . . . That pic is Mammoth, but we go up to those exact areas a lot. Before I met the wife, I was in Big Bear every weekend from Thanksgiving to Easter. That was my Ski-Bum phase, except I had a real job "down the hill" . . .

We (I was a 'local' after a few years) called you guys "flat landers." I had a sticker on my truck that read "skiers go home, but leave your daughters."

Yup, I was kinda sorta an honorary local, just because I was there so much. Now I'm just a "flat lander" . . . :( Those were my "good ole days" Used to boat up there a little too. Big Bear is a gorgeous lake and town and it is one of the reasons that this place still works for me.

Edit: Sorry for the hijack OBJ

It's funny, Big Bear Lake isn't really all that great but the atmosphere of the town is amazing!

I like Lake Arrowhead as well, but it is very snotty compared to Big Bear.

Yeah Frog,

I think Big Bear is just big enough to put the boat on, Arrowhead is a puddle if you ask me. There are more average Joe's in Big Bear for sure. The Lake is definitely pretty from a Chair Lift.
