snap rings in lower unit

I have long snap ring pliers but the tips are not strong enough. Can i get stronger tips or do i need different pliers, and if so could someone tell me which pliers i would need. thank you.

It ia an advantage to have one you may 'lock'. Makes it a lot easier.
