smoking while trolling along

motor runs great but starts to smoke a little when i'm just creeping around the lake. going slow? can anyone help me out or is it just nothing? its a johnson 70 1976

It's a large 2 cycle engine, " by chainsaw standards" burning a mixture of gas, and oil. Yes! it will smoke.
