I have a 2001 Mercury 150 (not EFI, Not Optimax) just standard carbs. I ran double oil for the first two tanks of gas but now am running straight fuel with the oil injector. This beast smokes like a freight train at idle and especially when first cranked (even if warm). Is there something to be adjusted in the oiling system? Do I just live with killing mosquitos?

Don't mess with your auto oiler! Take it back to your Merc rep and tell him to fix it. Warranty is a very good thing...
Problem is, it can be voided should you mess with something they can later blame a defect on.

Walt

Very True, Walt.
One more thing to look into ,tho, Gordoch. Make sure your oil meets Merc's strict specs.
They recommend "Quicksilver" oil. This is one of the better 2 cycle oils, and very expensive. Many here have found Wall Mart's Supertech oil to be a great substitute, but I'm sure it's not in the book. But some here (like me) have run it with great results. It looks, feels, and smells like Quicksilver, and may actually be Quicksilver, relabled.
