i am in the process of restoring a 1998 Smoker Craft 172 Salmon. floors were soft so i decided to get down deep and do it right. I originally thought to put vinyl floor in but i have also seen videos for Durabak marine coating. does anyone have any experience with this product? Pros? Cons? or any other opinion to the process. thanks in advance for the advise.

i have also tried to research the model and it looks like it was a one year thing. it is similar to the pro mag, fazer, stinger, or phantom. it has an above floor fuel tank but once the floor is out I may look at putting an underfloor tank in it so i can have more storage above the floor.

Nice boat! I mainly hangout in the starcraft area with other tin-heads. Lots of good transferable builds over there to look at.

Im not a fan of marine carpet, thats for sure. A popular vinyl flooring is nautolex. I chose to do zero vinyl/carpet as well, and used hydroturf (or the online jungle knock-off). Hydroturf is durable enough for bass and duck boats, is closed cell foam, and soft on the feet. Most people think mine is real wood when they look at it. But theres your other options.

If you want to take hydroturf to the next level, tiny boat nation did some awesome custom dremel designs with theirs. Good aluminum building ideas on their channel as well, wish I had seen it before tackling my build.
