Smartrail / Splash Rail for Trihull?

Can't help you there but you just caused me to recollect another of the reasons I didn't like my tri-hulls....If you were heading N for example and the wind is blowing up decent waves from the East, with the helm on the Starboard side of the boat, you got wet as the Starboaard Sponson threw a wake and the wind blew it over on you. If it were a V hull the wake would be along side or behind you depending on your speed.

I'm going to experiment with temporary test spray rails, treating each side of the hull like two separate V-hulls. I don't see any reason this won't help on the outside but wonder what will happen to the spray deflected inward. Only one way to know. I've seen Catamarans with spray rails but the spray had somewhere to go between hulls.

My neighbor had a 17" proline CC. The water would splash up along the hull like most boats, however, the bow rail would deflect the spray into your face. That was special. if it were my boat, I would have pulled the bow rail off.

i was on a shake-down run on a boat with a new bulwark beach a few years bac. the water channeled past the primary door seal, in between the two seals and acted like a rooster tail on a jet ski, spraying nearly straight up and getting the lazarette seating fully wet.

I say get some double-sided tape, play around with some spray rails, find a shape that works, then make it out of glass.
