Hello. As i started to change the analog gauges on my boat with twin merc's 377mag dts, and install smartcraft, i have a problem..... the harness of speedo and tachos is not long enough to connect to junction box.....is something i can do, like harness extension?? I can not relocate the junction box as it is attached to the ccm's .
Any ideas??
Thank you very much

Believe there should be many options in wire harness sizings to choose from out there.

Is there by chance a Merc part number on the harness you have now that might help start a search for something a bit different?

For example ki want to extend the harness of the sc1000 tacho that contains in the box to reach and connect junction box....

I believe what you're going to need ought to be found within the following parts guide,

System Link Gauge Extension Harness Installation:
Back in 2007 The System Link Gauge Extension Harness comes in five lengths, ranging from 153 mm to 9.1 m (6 in. to 30 ft.). Install an extension harness anywhere in the System Link gauge series if you require additional gauge spacing or an alternative gauge mounting location. SmartCraft technology supports a System Link gauge series that does not exceed 9.1 m (30 feet) in overall length. SmartCraft supports one‑ and two‑helm installations with up to ten gauges per helm.
a - System Link gauge extension harness.
b - System Link gauge.

Silver_power, since out have a starting point in your boat now, go out to the boat and try to find the info you have now such as part number and if it's a 6 or 10 pin harness... Anything else feels like a guess at this time.

You can get an extension…and/or another junction box and lead. Should you plan any further inputs to the system

I have two options:
1. Connect a cable from smart junction box (DTS) to a new (4 port) junction box, one for each engine to which i will connect the gauges of each engine. In this case what cable (p/n) do i need for the connection between smart j-box and simple 4port j-box?
2. Use an extension cable for the 10pin harness which is inside the box of sc1000 speedo and tacho, so to reach the smart j-box which is about 4feet far and so the standard harness is not long enough. In this case what p/n do i need??

Thank you very much.

The extension is the same plug fitting as the standard fitting from the remotes. Just remember you’ll need to fill in any unused ports on the junction box, with a yellow terminator weather cap resistor plug.
If you have any additional smaller sc gauges like volts, fuel etc…you’ll need the smart craft system link cable too. These allow such gauges as these, to be wired in line and off the tacho or Speedo sc1000 gauge cable.

I know the "Smartcraft System" is new techno stuff but analogs work just as good .
