I have a set if Faria MG2000 Smartcraft gages I am going to install to a 2004 Optimax 225. It will be installed on a 22" bay so I need the 30 ft cable. I have seen listings for cables with 0,1 and 2 resistors. Does anyone know which I need. Haven't gotten a response from Faria or Merc.

Thanks,
Ed

Re: Smartcraft gage connection harness?

I realize this is an old post, but here is some info for someone looking into this. If you just want to run a system monitor, you can buy a cable with two resistors, if you want to run a tach and speedo, you will need a junction box under your dash that the gauges will connect to, then a ressistor you plug into that box, and a cable with one ressistor (engine side) I put in the tach and speedo , a junction box in the front and back (each with a ressistor plugged into them, any way you do it there must be two ressistors in the system)and a cable with no ressistors because I thought the fuel oil and paddle wheel harness you need would plug into the rear box, now I know it plugs into the engine, so there is not much point in a rear box.... hope this helps someone.
