2007 boats is only 1 1/2 months old . . . and when I had to run a wire thru the plastic loom up to the bow I found about an inch or two of standing slimy water under the front casting platform.
Took the old wire out it was a slippery mess. If I let this go on and I have hot muggy weather in August, it's going to be a growing fungal smelly, slippery mess under there!
Is this normal to have water under the deck?
I know some can get caught between the ribs. I crank up the trailer jack all the way up (which is pretty high as it's an over sized jack) and sometimes water comes out but there is always a few inches up front.
I'm not happy seeing the boats wiring to the bow floating under water.
Do you think the boat is leaking? I run the bilge sometimes when underway and get a stream for a few minutes spraying out. But that has only happened a few times. Once after the dealer had it in his lot without a cover for a few days and it rained so that was not surprising to have 10 gallons spray out after turning bilge pump on. I attributed the other times to back spray from the outboard coming in over the transom even though it has a splash tray with drain holes.
I think it was spraying in when the motor is not trimmed up high enough at high speeds.
Possible solution: Do you think I should pour a few buckets of diluted bleach in through the bow and let it sit for awhile to disinfect the under the floor area where the water is standing between the ribs. So I don't have to have my hands smelly when ever I work on or touch anything under the decking. I figure I can flush it out with the hose after.
Thoughts please. . . anyone think my new boat is leaking . . . I don't see drips or water on my driveway!
I've run with the plug out on highway while trailering along at 70 mph and you would think that would drain all the water out but it doesn't.
