Hi...New to forum so excuse me if I break any protocolo.

I have ordered a INTEX Excursion 5 and will be wanting to fabricate some portable decking. It is a bit premature given I have not yet seen the boat and do not have the correct dimensions, but a thought occurred to me that I could use the top panels off my sleep number bed foundation. It cosists of four panels each about 29" x 39" (not exact) that snap together. Depending on how I cut them it would appear that I could salvage the edges that snap together and perhaps have four interlocking panels. It already has a textured surface, quite light, and sturdy. If the panels are wide enough, I might be able to get by using only two of them and they would interlock laterally and the extruded portions of the outboard edges could be used as hand holds to remove the panels from the boat. (if you can picture what I mean).

any thoughts?
Does anybody have the inside dimensions of the Intex 5 ?

Thank You,

James
