I have a 1995 Bayliner. I want to put a ski tow on it to pull the kids tubeing & waterboarding. I bought an Attwood flush mount ski tow # 66448-7. I have to drill a 2 1/8" hole in the boat to mount it, so I an having some anxiety. I'm not sure where to drill it on the transom. The instructions say towards the top. I am concerned the tow will pull/rip out or since the seam of the boat is about 3 inches awaybelow, it will hurt/flex out the seam from the pulling. Has anybody done this before or have some thoughts on the subject?

Same here. Just got one of those harnesses that hook to each stern tie down and make a big V. $10 at walmart quick connect on the end and rope centers well behind the boat. And it floats No drilling needed

Re: Ski tow on bayliner

I just put one on my boat this week. My boat had previously had a U-hook (like the transom tie-downs) mounted horizontally in the center. I was havint to use a carabiner to clip the different ropes into the boat.

The tow eyelet was the best $25 accessory I've bought for the boat, thus far.

It's simple, solid, and reliable.

Mine just has a 16" piece of 2x4 cedar behind it, and it's PLENTY sturdy.
