Ski Ring Repair

The ski ring on our runabout has worked loose and is in need of repair. The ring is attached to the hull at two throughhull- points using a backing plate. What type bedding compound would you use? 5200 seems a bit much and I not sure if it might not damage the surrounding gel coat due to the stress at that point.

what you are probably doing to have to do, is find a nice piece on metal or chrome washers to use on the outside between the ring and the fiberglass. use lock washer on the inside. and tighten hell out of it. you can also double nut it to keep it from backing off.

Epoxy Putty,...??...

5200 would be the Least I would use........

Maybe a Newer, Bigger , Stronger Backing Plate,...??....
