I have a larson flyer with a 70 johnson outboard and was wanting to add a ski pylon. I only see them on inboards though. Do they make for boats with outboards and if so are they the same or different? By adding this will it help me pull people out of the water easier or be any easier on my motor? I am currently using the ski harness that goes around the motor.
Thanks!

Most aftermarket ski pylons use two trailing arms for strength. The inboard ones you speak of are usually made of solid aluminum and there is a crossmember under the floor that connects to the stringers of the boat.

You most certainly can use one. It will help greatly pulling a skier up.

If you can point me to the one that goes with outboards I would appreciate it!

Almost any from this page, depending on your particualr boat. you'll need to measure a few things.

web page

A pylon makes a world of difference when pulling a tube, as opposed to the harness which goes behind the outboard.
I was pulling kids around this summer, and with the harness, the tube's front edge would throw a huge roostertail, directly into the tuber's face...not fun. Pylon solved that.
