Skeg question

How much skeg can be broken off to not cause3 foot to be useable? I accidentally broke chunk off while backing outn of drive?

"Technically" you do not need much skeg to answer your question but, it protects the prop and does aid in steering. If you tore off about half ....you will still be able to boat!
