A financial advisor meets with me one night last week.

Calls me 2 days later and starts saying that he has time today at 4:00 for a second meeting. I stop him and say I will get back to him on the time.

I never get back to him.

While at lunch today, I find out he calls the gal at my front desk to 'confirm our appointment tonight.' I email him and say - what appointment - don't come, I'm booked and have no time.

No response.

I email a second time stating please confirm.

I get a response from his assistant stating she left him a vm and will call again to make sure he knows.

4:00 rolls around... He shows up anyway.

I look like an idiot.

Do I have a right to be upset at this guy?

Sean

Re: Situation...

Yes you do. If he won't listen to you now and does what he wants what do you think he will do once he has your money? Your wishes or his?

Re: Situation...

Yes. Tell him to go away. Nothing wrong with financial advisers necessarily, but he wants you to trust him with your money and he doesn't listen? The guy has no clue. He thinks agression is the way to succeed. Maybe, but I wouldn't want to help him confirm it.

EE, tell him to take a hike. He wants you to invest your money in something he prolly has his hands in anyway.

OK... you guys echoed my sentiments. I was PEEE'D OFF when he walked into my office this afternoon. I was thinking maybe I was overreacting, but we're right, I never said anything about him showing up and all of a sudden he's here.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..........

Sean

YOU are the customer. He serves you. Tell him to take a long hike on a short pier.

I'd be tempted to tell him, "okay...I'm all yours at $60 per hour. The clock is ticking. Whatcha got?"

Yeah, if he got the messages... he's just being an arrogant s.o.b.! Fire him and let him know how much people like being treated like that. My financial advisor and personal banker are the biggest suck-holes ever. They give me an educated opinion but do exactly what I say. I'm not wealthy so they're not making a bunch of money because of me but they do it anyways. I'm sure they treat all their clients the same.

After having worked with 'marketing professionals' for the last 20 years, I can tell you that your experience isnt that uncommon. I have worked with salespeople that would go into and office and more or less refuse to leave until they made their sale.

My wife says that Im too hard on them, but once they cross the line trying to sell me something, they get told where to go. :)
