Silicone for transom housing

Any suggestions on what type of silicone to use for sealing a transom housing on the back of a boat. The housing is half under water and is bolted onto the transom. there is 1/8 to 1/4" gaps in spots.<br />Thanks for any heip.

3M 5200. It's made for such use. Dealers use it around the mounting holes when mounting outboards. But the stuff doesn't clean up very well.

Thanks 12Footer. I never make a mess anyway. Yeah right. Figure I could mask off the edges and save some mess.
