I just bought two kits. One is 18-7806 (fuel pump kit) and the other is a 18-7037 (carb kit( and I was totally unhappy with both kits. The fuel pump kit the strainer gasket was too big as well as the three fuel check valve gaskets. On the carb kit the new float gasket is a cork gasket instead of rubber which is twice as thick so I was unable to get a good seal on it. The float pin is smaller so it does not go in tight like the old one. If you do these rebuilds it might be better to order merc parts instead of sierra. I dont know how accurate they are but they have to be better then what is in the sierra kits.

Re: Sierra Rebuild Kits

I'm suprised. I've used mostly factory parts over the years, but the Sierras I've used have usually done just fine.

Re: Sierra Rebuild Kits

The integral parts worked like the fuel seat and needle valve, the diaphram and most of the gaskets. I dont know. Maybe my motor is too old for this stuff. Next year it will be 40 years old. Maybe the newer stuff has a different size to it.
