Sierra filter install 97 120 force

As always brain farts have become common. Bought a sierra
fuel/water filter kit from iboats. Motors a 97 120 force, boats
a 97 17' nitro. Fuel lines on this are, looks real big. I guess is
a smaller line inside right? Insulation around the line or something?
Heres how dumb i seem to be be-coming. Is there a pic-by-pic or
a video on how to install this thing? Mount the braket with screws
right? What type so they dont go out the other side? What size are
the dang lines? Theres 4 in-out places for the screw in line part. Back
2 arrows go to-ward each other. Front 2 go away from each other. Did
come with a couple brass screws but no instructions. Any pics, u-tube
videos a idiot can follow or is it hire someone with a brain?:facepalm:

This is how it should look. The mount has more ports than you need, so you have to plug two of them up with 1/4" pipe plugs. I'm pretty sure they're 1/4" pipe plugs.



Note the arrows. Line on the right comes from the fuel tank. Line on the left goes to the motor. As far as the diameter of the lines, they could be 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" inside diameter. If your kit didn't come with the barb fittings, you'll need to get those too, plus hose clamps. Best thing would be to take a small piece of the fuel line with you to the store and see which size fitting works best. Take the mount with you too just to make sure the fittings are actually 1/4" pipe.

As far as where to mount, I'd mount it someplace that is fairly easy to get to and in a spot where the length of the screws is not important.

Thought a little more about what came in kit.
Barb fittings, thats the brass plugs right? Thought
the kit was complete I guess its not. Has 2 closed
end brass barbs "fittings'' its the same thing right?
Might have to figure out those and buy online.
Not sure can buy here. Understand. That was the
other problem didnt want to just cut the gas line
without knowing the size, i guess will have to and
plug it till find all needed. Lines are large say about
a inch. I guess its insulation or something around
the line itself. I got ya now just need a in/out barb,
fitting for lines and just cut it see what line size is.
PN you thinks ok to epoxy the mount? Or get screws
that dont go through the boat?

Add on another dumb &^$$* question. Fitting size "barbs" Package dont
say what size they are I guess would be screw in size? Inside/outside
diameter? I guess far as that goes its standard size? Have to buy as
said last post. 2 fittings "barbs" for fuel line itself, in/out. Ya know am
sorry I ask so many common sense questions. Seems am losing common
sense ur something. Not sure what...

Dump question..Without barbs needed as well as what
size lines right down to clamps found a 160 piece set
with hose of different sizes. 20 bucks for all. Have
another problem now. What to do with over 150 pieces?
Anyone needs mess like this let me know. Yours 4

The closed threaded brass fittings are not "Barb" fittings. Those are the plugs for the ports that you do not need.

This is a barb fitting:
Utility 69933 1/2" x 1/2" Hose x MPT Male Hose Brass Barb Brass Fitting

The threaded portion is 1/4 pipe thread, I'm pretty sure. The other end needs to match the inner diameter of your hose. It could be 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8". So you need a 1/4 pipe thread barb fitting with the other end in one of the three sizes that I referenced.

I doubt epoxy will hold the mount. The epoxy may hold up well but I'll bet that the top layer of wood will break away. If you notice in the picture, the mount is held in place with nuts and bolt. No glue or epoxy.

Hang on to the hose clamps. If you have a boat, they'll come in handy sooner or later. LOL!

No one local had those so ordered 2.
Have a thing in brain about drilling holes
in the boat with nuts sticking out. Your right
though and I knew it. Drill them holes.
What gets me is I knew this stuff allready.
What is it? Hit the 50 mark and ur common
sense starts going away? Anyway thanks
