Side mount throttle control 1991 mercury outboard.

Hi newbie here. I'm having some trouble with my side mount shift control and am looking for a new one. The problem I'm having is there are no parts #'s on it. I think I found it but I'm not sure. Just wondering if anybody knows if A quicksilver 2000 shift control is the right part and will work with a 1991 60 horse outboard? I see there are 3000 and 4000's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure what model engine it is. Its in storage 50 miles away. If I need the model I guess Ill have to wait until I can get over there. Thanks for any info.

Likely you have a commander 2000. my 1989 60hp is equipped with the same.it is all black,with a fast idle lever,with trim switch optional.you ought to look inside yours before investing top dollars for a new one,and all the other work involved in swapping over. a good parts listing is from dougrussell.com, http://dougrussell.com/partscatalog...,1,2,3,29,7,24,22,23,4,6,8,25,36,39,40,5,27,0 if the link doesnt work just go to the site and search parts catalog,then quicksilver,then remote controls and look for the 2000,all the others are on there also,so if you have a different model you will see that also. hope it helps
