SIde Mount Cotrols 40hp Mariner

I have a 40 hp Mariner on a 74 McKee Craft, the control cables needed to be replaced, I was able to get new cables and am in the process of installing them. I have a small cam bearing that I have no idea where it goes, it fell out. Can someone give me some direction. Thanks Jim
