I have a 1990 70hp EVINRUDE which had side mount controls in a bass boat. I installed the motor on a center console boat and did not want to rig the center console with a side mount control. So I bought a I bought a used binnacle control on eBay. The original side mount had a neutral lever to rev the engine after starting....the binnicale does not. How do you rev the engine in neutral? Also the binnacle control has a pin like button that mus be pushed in continuously to keep the engine running. I suspect that it is a insTant kill switch as in dead man switch...but how do I run the engine without pushing the switch? Finally, can anyone send or direct me to a wire diagram for a binnacle control? Thanks for any help from a newbie.

Re: Side mount controls convention to binnacle

Ok, as expected the switch I have to keep depressed requires a lanyard with a clip to keep it depressed. It was missing from the used binnicale I bought. Got one on order now. It appears I have a 1993 pre wired binnicale. Would still like to have he wire diagram for it......there is a couple wires not landed inside of the control so I would like to correct it. Any help in obtaining a schematic of this control will be appreciated.
