Showing off the new tow rig

Just had to show off my new towing vehicle . Turns out the 1997 Jeep Cherokee just couldn't handle the Stingray, and my Mazda 3 decided to get expensive three years after it got paid off. Traded in the Mazda, sold the Jeep on Craigslist, and picked up a sweet "employee" deal on this 2013 Silverado 1500 (5.3 L V8 with towing package)



Working for GM has its perks!

Good choice! I love mine! I have close to 128k miles on my 07 and 416k on my 99. Both 5.3 trucks. It should serve you well, as long as you care for her. Congrats!


Funny side note, I traded an 05 Mazda 3 touring in on my 07. LOL

You get "Employee Pricing" which is about $2K off of MSRP. Then you also get an "Employee Vehicle Allowance" which is anywhere from $500 to $3000 depending on the vehicle. On top of all of that, you are eligible for all rebates and incentives currently offered for a vehicle. For my Silverado, they were offering $2500 cash rebate, plus $1000 for the trim package I chose, plus an additional $1000 if you traded in a vehicle. The only incentive I did not qualify for was a $1500 loyalty rebate, which you only got if you currently drove a GM vehicle.

All in all, I ended up knocking about $12000 off of the sticker.

My brother in law works for Dodge and I got a pretty decent deal too.

The Silverado was my second choice. If it was my first choice, I would probably be divorced by now.

As configured, it has a max towing capacity of 9600 Lbs. You can upgrade to the 6.3 L V8 with the Max towing package, which bumps the towing capacity to 10500 Lbs.

Which rear end do these come with nowdays? 3.73?
