That is sweet. I was thinking about putting speakers in that area, but I like your setup. I see you have speakers in the bow?

Looks good.

I'll take a few more pics of the speakers in the bow when I get home from work. They are Dual Marine 6 1/2's. I'm going to replace them with Sony Marine 6 1/2's.

Very nice setup and clean install! Something that I have been trying to get around to do one of these days but I'm a little worried about making the wrong cuts.

Sound quality must be a huge difference over the factory installed speakers which I found hard to hear from the bow unless I had the volume turned way up!

Re: Show your sub installs, Tahoe owners

Using the Dremel attachement with the fiberglass cutter bit made it a lot easier than I thought. The sub came with a template and I traced it out with a sharpie being careful to keep the template on the flattest surface area. I then used a drill bit to drill 4 pilot holes at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock position on the circle. Starting at the 12 o'clock position I started the cut with the Dremel. It cuts so precise and with just a little pressure cut around the circle like butter. Go to three, then 6 then 9 and back to 12 and the hole is cut. Then I used my drill for the 9 screw holes for the sub. Test fit the sub and it was a little tight so I used the round sandpaper bit to smooth out the edges of the circle I cut out and test fit the sub again. Now it's perfect. Screwed it down and put the screw plugs over the screw holes. Done! Trust me I was nervous about this too until I saw how easy the dremel cut through the fiberglass. Hope this helps you overcome your fear of "making the wrong cut".

Definitely not as hard as I thought. I do have a Dremel and never thought of using it for this. Thanks for the play-by-play!

Using the Dremel attachment on the Dremel did three things for me.

Clean, concise and precision cutting. I might add that it would have been nice to have a second person running the wet/dry vac while cutting to catch all the fiberglass dust. I itched on my arms and hands for a day or so after as well.

I've heard of rubbing talc powder on your arms to clog your pores before doing fiberglass work. Then take a cold shower to keep the pores closed while you wash the fiberglass dust off.
