a small amount of fuel/oil can spread out on the water and look like a lot...probably just draining out of your exhaust..


and I agree with some other post that suggest you find a better mechanic for your outboard..I would never remove a head with that kind of compression..absolutely no reason to..your problem was obviously with your fuel or fire.

I found the cluprit, one fuel line was worn in a spot I couldn't see and was seeping right down the center of the motor. Once I removed that line it was obvious that it needed replacing. I need to be more torough I guess. Quick fix and I'll have to see what happens now.
