Should I Change the Impeller or Everything?

About a month ago I changed my water pump, I replaced the housing and eveything. Tonight, my wife took the boat out with a friend and SMOKED the impeller. Can I change the impeller only, or will I have to change the housing and plate and all again? I have not taken it apart yet to see the damage, I am just hoping all I will have to change is the impeller and put it back together (as I have a spare impeller but nothing else). Thanks

You wont know the answer until you get it apart. if it looks and feels good then just the imp. if not then all of it. If your going to get the parts b4 you take it apart then get it all and error on the side of caution.

How did that happen? Impellers should last a few years at least with good flushing and storing practices.
Are you sure its the impeller? Did it just stop "peeing"
