#1 and #3 are by the water #2 is buy the porch. The dates are wrong on 1 and 3, they were taken a couple weeks after 2.

There is also a cub and another smaller bear. The Blacktail's here don't tend to get nice antlers like Whitetails and Mule dear in other llocations.

It better not be bigger than this one. It was the biggest one I took off the mountain so far. Notice the funny looking boot on my right foot. I had just had that foot operated on a few weeks before hunting season and took the right boot of an old set of pacs and removed the felt liner so I could fit my foot and all the dressings in it. I was told I should take it easy and not put a lot of weight on it but I don't take orders well. I dragged it out by my self and my wife still thinks to this day that I was a complete idiot. Later that day I rode out in a trailer pulled by a tractor to retrieve two deer that my Amish neighbor and his son shot. While trying to turn the trailer around on the log road he ran over the same foot with the trailer tire. I didn't tell her about that but I think that is the reason one of the toes is came out crooked.

dwco5051, my hat's off to you sir. Both for such a nice deer and secondly because I know absolutely I couldn't drag a deer out these days by myself. My back would give out and that would be it. And it is such strenuous work as well any if I didn't have a heart attack, I would be so out of breathe, that it wouldn't matter anyways.

Hope to put this one in the freezer this year. It has become a nusiance and the last straw was when my wife went out on the front porch to smoke and met it about four feet away as it was backing down off the porch steps. We figure it was on its way to the deck to check out the smell of the gas grill. It has been showing up lately on our deer cameras so we know it is in the area. My wife said get a bear tag and the next time she wants to see it would be with its hide tacked on my den wall. The picture was taken in April since I dragged out one of my old cameras and didn't remember how to change the date.

Art, If I get it do you want to come up and help me drag it out

I can't believe how many bear you guys see! They're such a novelty for me, even when I lived out in the country ... I'd probably be too fascinated to shoot 'em. ('Course, I've never been chased by one either).

I do like the taste of bear though, so that might have been a motivator.

When I went out to go to work the other day at about 5 in the morning, I had a bear standing there looking at me, big sucker, all I did is holler at him and he took off, but when you can't see much it will shake you a bit, but the bears around here are thick as thieves right now!

Took a shot at this one opening morning. Looked 3 times for signs of a hit but saw nothing. One the second morning I was looking again and followed sign through the grass. Never saw any blood or hair. Ended up walking straight to him. A nice clean hit.

Would have had a doe, 80 yard shot threading the needle in the woods. Ended up hitting this and not the deer.

This guy was around for a few days, I don't know which bear it belongs too, but I'm a bit more cautious outside now.
