Nice work!
Here you never see painted trailers the only thing that lasts is galvanized or aluminum
The frame on my galvy Load Rite is 30 years old…
PS I use those same Load Star bias ply tires. Great for local driving. I change em every 6 years or so…

Only recommendation I could suggest is to replace those rubber rollers with the yellow poly rollers, they roll much better, smoother and last forever. Never been able to get more than a few years from the black ones even in freshwater use only. Can't wait to see it all together !

Yeah, galvanized or aluminum would be my choice, but this one came with the boat and the bones were still good for a rebuild. It lasted 40 years, so I should be able to get a few more out of it with the refresh, fresh water use, and garage storage.

I went back and forth on the radials vs bias ply, and saved a few pennies with the bias ply. They should be perfectly adequate for my use and the step up to the 14" will be a benefit as well.

Poly roller replacements are on the radar. The existing black rollers are still in good shape, so I figured I'd roll (no pun intended) with those for the time being. Between all the new hardware, hubs, fenders, rims/tires, etc., I decided to save the Benjamin for higher priorities. The ones on hand will do just fine, and I've got 4 extras after replacing the front rollers with the short bunk boards. Easy enough to swap at a later date when the need is there.

In a choice between bias & radials for lower cost tires I’d always choose bias. I won’t buy cheap radials they are a lot more complex to manufacture and there more to go wrong. I have not had any failures with the Kenda Load Star bias tires & have used them for 20 years. If I wanted a radial for longer trips I’d get the GY Endurance. I live on an island I’m never more than a few miles from the water….

I've been trying to post the last several days with pictures of the completed trailer, but with the photo issues on the site, I'm still waiting...

Turned out great and I managed to single handedly leapfrog the 18ft hull back onto the trailer from the makeshift cradle I had fabricated. Got all the new LED lights all mounted and the cables all pulled, just need to make the final connections.

new primer and paint
new fenders
new 14" rims and tires
new hubs, races, bearings, and seals
new leaf springs
all new hardware
replaced front rollers with bunks
new keel rollers
new jack stand
new winch strap
new LED lights
new wiring, junction box, and 7 way plug
new Fulton swing away tongue w/ extension

Most importantly...I can park my truck in the garage again:)
