To the OP, I think you'll be happy with the 4Runner. How about some Pics?? Toyota makes a heck of a vehicle. My dad, diehard GM guy, absolutely loves his '12 Toyota Sienna, and that's saying something since my parents have had Pontiac Montana's since they came out.

We have a picture of it hitched to the boat on the ramp but it is home on our Ipod. (post later). I've driven it the last 2 days and warming up to it. I moved my 2" ball over to the "Toyota" receiver mount that came with this truck in the trunk (never used) since that one is a better height match then my old one.

My parents have had a Chevrolet since I came home from the hospital (3 of em) and keep things 10 years each on average. They just bought a Subaru Outback on my recommendation and are in love with it. (american assembled but in a class of one).

I'm trying to steer the wife towards a 4Runner or Xterra as her first vehicle purchase when we're ready to do so. Full frame either way. Although she's opened up on the pickups as she loves driving my Tundra so the Tacoma has entered into the mix. She doesn't need something full sized as she's driving an '04 Montana now (my parents gave it to her as a reward for getting her license - epilepsy, and seizure free so she finally got her license this past Jan).

I hear you on the "imports" although that really should apply to GM, Ford and Dodge now as they have LESS US content in them than Toyota. And the Toyotas are made here in the states by good old UAW members
