Merc 9.9 El remote long Shaft. Trying to remove lower case, but unable to access the shift shaft connection in cowling. Is there another way to disconnect the shift shaft to allow the lower casing to be removed?
had to remove a solenoid and condenser to uncover the retainer. Not mentioned in the Clymer Manual. It will be very difficult to reinstall the retainer as there is room for two fingers only.
