shift shaft height adjustment

any one know what the measurement for the shift shaft height would be for a 76 135hp johnson v4 , i looked in the sticky but its not listed

The shift rod itself is not adjustable as it is held in place by a foot at the bottom of the shift rod.

The barrel swivel at the top of the shift rod should be turned down until gently seated, then turned up no more than two revolutions so that the flat surface [edit] faces the driveshaft.

Make sure that the nylon bushing is in the hole in the barrel swivel when you reconnect.

the flat can't face forward it can only face towards the back as there isn't enough clearance for it.
