shift selenoid

I have a 1972 johnson 125 hp motor and it has a hydro-electric shift the green selenoid went out for a second time. Last time it went out i bought some used ones and still have the blue one that is good from the new set.My question is can i use the blue one to replace the green? or is it different in any way?

The part numbers of those coils are different, BUT observe them closely. The number difference may only be due to the length of the wires or their color (it happens).
