I have a 1150 that the shift rod just above the foot has broke and is stuck in forward. How hard is it to change and where could I possibly find one?

Re: Shift rod for 76 1150

biggin;

This parts listing is for your engine and if you look under Gear Housing Assembly Complete, you will see that the lower shift rod is available as item 39:

If it is the upper shift rod, item 17 you will have to select the right one for your engine s/n:

Hopefully, it will be the lower one that is the problem as this will be far easier than the upper?

Can you tell us which one you are referring to?

They are not too hard to find, depends where you are we could direct you to someone who has one. To change it you do have to remove the powerhead if it is the upper shift rod, that is not as difficult as it sounds.
