Shift length on late model 10/15/20 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke.

Hi all, my old Mercury 2 stroke 15 has finally given up the ghost so I've ordered a new 20 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke to replace it. One of the things I'll miss dearly with the Merc was the ability to shift with the tiller. I'm wondering if there is way to move the shift on the new Tohatsu closer to the throttle/ farther from the transom to minimize reaching for it. Anyone with any experience here?

You could buy the (troublesome) merc bits and install them on the Tohatsu 20E.
