Shift interrupt switch

How maney cylinders does a shift interrupt switch cut out. If the switch is bad could it limit the number of cylinders firing while on the muffs in the driveway. Thanks Scott

All of them, it basically shorts the ignition to ground.

If the switch is bad could it limit the number of cylinders firing while on the muffs in the driveway.

Thanks for the info. But if the switch is bad could it cause the engine not to fire?

Since the switch grounds the ignition then, yes, it "could" keep the engine from firing. I don't think it's very likely though. An Ohm meter will tell you in just a few seconds, it's a very simple check to verify/eliminate the switch. Check it real quick and then move on to a reasoned trouble shooting approach to the problem.
