Still trying to figure out why the prop shaft pulled out, and didn't pull the entire lower bearing housing assembly with it...I'm not sure if the tip of this shaft is broken off, or if it supposed to be a notch only. Can't find any pics of it on the web, and the pics in the diagrams don't really show the tip. Should it be enclosed, and only a hole in the side for the pin from the clutch dog to go through? If thats the case, and I need a new one I can't seem to locate one anywhere. Anyways, heres the photo

Yep, it's broken. Damn, that could probably cause some shifting issues I would say!

In other news, the housing seems to be stuck down there, anyway to get the thing pulled out?

Notice in that link I posted that there is a set screw #3 that holds that stuff in place. Are you using a repair manual of any sort?

I have an OEM PDF Manual, I'm not trying to pull the lower driveshaft bearing, just the lower Propshaft housing so I can remove the shift dog shaft and check the detent as well. That setscrew goes to the lower driveshaft bearing...the housing unfortunately is stuck solid in there, ive tried spraying wd40, and any other penetrating oil to break it loose. The shift dog shaft is definitely broken at the top where the pin goes, but I need to remove that housing to replace it. Part #5 according to the illustrations.

can I replace my 75ELR78C with a 75ELR76D or 70EL77S? Thinking I might just replace this thing...
