Mine is the same. It's crimped to the threads. I used channel locks to adjust to 6inches center to center. Well not my forward doesn't engage anymore. I had no problems before messing with it. But it wasn't 6inches like I was reading. Before changing it. It was 7 or 7 1/2 inches center to center. I'm going to reset it back. And adjust the top cable. Any ideas? My idle is high at 900. It should be lower. When I shift into gear I hear shift clunk. From what I read that's not normal it should be quite. I have 7.4 mpi v8. With bravo 1 xrRe: Shift cable adjustment. Brass barrel pinned to cable
Yes it is. At least on this brand new one it is. Something is different.
However I think I found a solution but questioning if its correct. I took an open end wrench to hold nut at the end and channel locks on the barrel and started turning. It will turn with force. It came with barrel roughly about centered. I had to adjust to all the way to the end of the threads. The channel locks ate up the brass a bit since its so difficult to turn due to the crimp they put in it.
