Shaft seal below water pump

I have a question regarding the seals below the water pump on a 1978 25 HP Evinrude. While replacing the impeller I was applying quite a bit of force to slide the old impeller over a rust spot on the drive shaft and pulled the drive shaft out of the lower unit. I was able to re insert it with out issue. Is there any reason to believe that I may have damaged anything when doing this. Particularly the seals and bearings that sit under water pump like part 39 or 50 on the enclosed drawing. Would it be a good idea to replace these while I have it apart or put it all back together and see if I have a water in the oil issue. I don't like fixing what's not broken but if damage is imminent then I would rather tackle now then waste time putting it back together. How difficult is the replacement and does it require any additional tools? Any other concerns with accidentally removing the drive shaft and just reinserting it in the same location that I may not have thought of? I am not brand new to outboards but I am far,far from an expert.

Re: Shaft seal below water pump

Normally no problem. However changing the seal when it is all apart may not be a bad idea.
